Values

Sustainable creativity looks like

A quality piece that lasts. Repairs, and a local supply chain with minimal environmental impact.

Lasting Quality

Your investments should be as timeless as your style.

You can proudly brag about your piece, it’s no off-the-shelf copy.

Pure pigment and oil, no fillers. Sustainably sourced timber. Expertly hand-stretched canvas.

This masterpiece is here to stay.

Repairs

An original piece will grow with you and your family.

Art is an active part of your life, and your child’s texta mark or the splatter of a smoothie accident is all part of the story.

I’m here to touch up and varnish throughout its life.

Local Suppliers

Your purchase supports a network of small local businesses who are passionate experts.

Langridge Artist Colours in Victoria, Pigment Lab in Enmore, and South Coast Framers feature in my works.

  • 1. Immerse

There’s no inspiration like the natural world. Millions of species, a spectrum of colour, a cacophany of noise.

Sit with me and feel the warm breeze. Soak it in.

  • 2. Interact

This is where my creativity thrives - at the dance between absorbing and emitting.

Interpret what you feel, have a play. Maybe the warm grass feels pink.

  • 3. Plan

Wild creativity might need a little taming.

Start defining composition, value, message, concept.

  • 4. Flow

    Time to release.

With the key elements mapped and structured, it’s time to focus on the smooth flow of the oils.

“Nat’s work and the talent she exudes through her synthesization of colour & texture has the ability to transcend the observer to a place & time outside their current reality.

“As a lover of witnessing the sun rise over water on a warm summer morning, I find myself transported there each and every time I set eyes upon my piece.”

Thank you Nat, for this gift of travel through your divine expression of creativity.”

About the artist

THE UNFOLD NAT DANIEL 15.jpg

When we’re not taking walks and swims, I chase the sun around our apartment
and try not to get
paint on everything.

Hello, I’m Nat, a painter and educator with a passion for building community.

I don’t feel calm unless I’ve had my feet grounded and my lungs full of fresh air.

That grounded moment – closed-eyed, feeling the comfort and scale of the world – is what I capture in my paintings.

Communicating the complexity of nature is at the core of all of my work - as an artist just as much as a neuroscientist, a health consultant, and a science illustrator.

Growing up, I was taught the importance of quality and resourcefulness. I’ll always believe in keeping things simple and long lasting, so I work with local, quality goods – canvases that are hand stretched and built from sustainable fibers, materials made with love for the art, paints in their oldest, purest form: oil and pigment.

While you’ll mainly see me making paintings and inks, exploring other mediums is a part of my process. Whatever the form, my work focuses on moments that stop your thoughts in their merry tracks. Whether it be a pause for beauty, curiosity or education, I hope they bring you breathing space.
